Reductive Mastoplasty
Reductive Mastoplasty is the intervention that serves to reduce too
voluminous breasts via the removal of glandular tissue and excess cutis. The
residual gland is then repositioned at its original site (pectoral region)
and fixed to the pectoral muscle. It is therefore a rather complex
intervention requiring good surgical experience. Also, in order to be
successful, correct surgical techniques must be used that permit breast
reduction and anchorage, without leaving too evident and disfiguring scars.
The intervention lasts for around 3 4 hours and requires 1 2 days of
hospitalisation. Stitch removal after 7 10 days.
