1996 Nominated National Secretary of S.C.E.I.(office held from Marzo 1996 until May 2001); chief scientist and congress organiser of the Society during the same period.

Since 1985 he has worked on Localised Surgery in Obesity and the Restoration of Body Image post slimming.
He is the promoter and founding member of the Italian Society for the Treatment of Obesity (SITO).
He is the reference Surgeon of the Obesity Medical and Surgical Therapy Service of the University of Padova.
